Replacing unreliable controls with an APEX drilling system

The original control system was creating consistent downtime and support challenges for the rig.

ACE installed a new APEX Drilling Control System, including a new drilling console, updated distributed I/O, updated ABB ACS880 drive firmware, and corrections to field instrument and wiring issues.

All work was completed onsite in Alaska on the North Slope. The outcome included significant improvements to block control and zone management, new safeties, and minimal to no downtime related to electrical control issues.
